Project Type
This 7-acre project, located in the northern part of the Albuquerque BioPark, aims to create a transportive experience that will makes visitors feel as if they’ve left Albuquerque and are immersed in a diverse Asian landscape, ranging from lush floodplains to the mountains of central Asia. The project will convey conservation initiatives to the public via dynamic, activity-based animal habitats, nature-focused discovery education, and family experiences. Furthermore, visitors will learn about serious topics such as poaching, trade, and human impact. The project will provide fully rotational habitats for Snow Leopard, Malayan Tiger, Orangutan, and Siamang. It will feature environmentally responsible design through renewable energy sources, passive ventilation, sustainable materials, water reclamation, stormwater management, and LEED-inspired strategies.
