The International Crane Foundation (ICF) recently hosted it’s first-ever virtual event Let’s Whoop it Up! on July 23. The event supported the foundation’s worldwide mission and created an opportunity for “Craniacs” to unite for a global celebration.
The successful fundraiser brought in more than $190,000 in gifts to support cranes worldwide. The International Crane Foundation works worldwide to conserve cranes and the ecosystems, watersheds and flyways on which they depend. Cranes are one of the most threatened species of birds, with 11 of 15 facing extinction (ICF is the only place on earth where you can see all 15 species of cranes).
The evening was hosted live by President and CEO Rich Beilfuss and Co-founder George Archibald in the new George Archibald Welcome Center. This event offered a sneak peek to the foundation’s newly renovated site, Cranes of the World, offering never before seen by the public glimpses of a $10M site renovations.
The event also included program highlights from Asia, Africa and North America about their efforts to save cranes and the places they dance.
